Gutters · Minneapolis & the Twin Cities
Your gutters are the last five feet of your roof, and the first five feet of your foundation's defense. We size them, pitch them, and hang them the way roofers do, because water that leaves the shingles wrong ends up in basements, fascia, and ice.

A gutter run is a small piece of civil engineering: it has to catch everything a Minnesota downpour sends off your specific roof planes, carry it on a correct pitch without sagging under ice, and discharge it far enough from the foundation to matter. That's math and craft: valley concentration points, downspout counts, expansion, hanger spacing rated for snow-country loads.
Most gutter problems we're called to fix were installed problems: flat runs that pond, undersized downspouts at valley outlets, hangers spaced for Missouri. Because we're roofers first, gutters go on as part of the roof system: coordinated with drip edge, ice-and-water protection, and fascia condition, not as an afterthought in a different company's truck.
Installing at re-roof time? Perfect: the drip-edge-to-gutter handoff is built correctly in one pass. (Roof replacement →)
Sagging runs re-pitched and re-hung, seams and end caps resealed with professional-grade sealants (not hardware-store caulk), storm-bent sections replaced, downspouts reattached and extended. If a repair solves it, that's what we'll quote. Same honesty as our roofing side.
Good guards mean less maintenance, not "never think about gutters again," and anyone promising otherwise is selling. Under Twin Cities cottonwoods, maples, and pines, quality guards keep the big debris out and turn twice-a-year ladder work into an occasional rinse, worth real money on tall or wooded homes. We install guard systems we're willing to stand behind [PRODUCT - confirm before launch] and we'll tell you plainly whether your trees justify them.
Straight answer, because winter myths sell a lot of junk here: gutters don't cause ice dams; attic heat does. But ice dams punish gutters brutally (loaded ice tears flat-hung runs right off the fascia), and clogged gutters freeze into the base layer that helps eave ice get started. Snow-country hanger spacing, correct pitch, and fall cleanouts are the gutter side of the defense; ventilation and ice-and-water protection are the roof side. We handle both, and in heavy winters our roof snow removal crew relieves the eaves before the ice wins.
At Right Away Construction, five-star service is the standard... not the goal.
It's priced by the linear foot and complexity: home size, stories, corners, and downspout count set the number. You'll get a firm, itemized quote after we measure; most homes land in a range we can estimate closely over the phone from a few details.
Depends on the roof feeding them. Large or steep roof planes and valley-fed corners overwhelm 5" in a summer downpour; 6" with matching downspouts is inexpensive insurance there. We spec by water volume, not by upsell.
Quality guards, correctly installed: yes, they meaningfully cut maintenance, especially under heavy trees. Nothing makes gutters maintenance-free, and we'll say that to your face before you spend a dollar.
Ice load on hangers that were spaced too far apart, screwed into soft fascia, or both. We rebuild the fascia if needed, re-hang on snow-rated spacing, and re-pitch the run: the fix that stops the annual repeat.
Yes, and it's the ideal sequence. Drip edge, ice-and-water membrane, fascia, and gutters go together as one clean system, with one crew accountable for all of it.
Seamless gutters sized for your roof, hung for our winters, and backed by the team that did the roof above them.
